Permit Fees

$75.00/for the first thousand, $25.00/additional thousand. $75.00 per inspection. Commercial building permits also require a bond to be posted at the time of issuance. $75.00 bond for cost of construction under $3,000.00. $250.00 bond for cost of construction over $3,000.00 but under $10,000. 2.5% of the cost of construction over $10,000.00. Demolition bonds 20% of demolition cost plus a performance bond.

Plan Review-Commercial:
$400.00, three sets of stamped and sealed plans required as well as a filled out building permit application.

Plan Review-Residential:
$300.00 for new builds, $150.00 for non-new builds/renovations/etc.

Cement Permits:
Same fees apply as building permits.

Electrical Permits:
$25.00 application fee and $75.00 per inspection.

Mechanical Permits:
$25.00 application fee and $75.00 per inspection.

Mechanical Plan Review:
$150.00 (Hoods, spray booths, suppression systems - commercial)

Plumbing Permits:
$25.00 application fee and $75.00 per inspection.

Right Of Way:
Same fees apply as building permits.

Re-inspection Fees:
$75.00 per additional trip.

Sign Permits:
$150.00 per face.

Landlord Licenses

All rental properties are required to have a Landlord License.  Applications for the license and fee schedules may be obtained at the City Clerk's office.  Once an application is submitted, the Building Department will conduct inspections to ensure the premises is safe for tenant occupancy.  Inspections are required every other year.


Rental/Building Inspector: Jerry Hicks conducts landlord license inspections Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Electrical Inspector: Tom Hernden conducts Electrical inspections Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and noon.

Building Official: Roger Pinch conducts Plumbing, Mechanical, and Commercial Building Inspections Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. He is available in the office for phone calls from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Landlords or tenants can contact the Building Department to schedule an inspection, after first applying for the license at the City Clerk's office.
