Chief Buchholz

It is the goal of the men and women of the Hazel Park Police Department to provide our citizens, business owners, and visitors with exemplary service through professional integrity, unwavering honesty, and uncompromising sacrifice. Together we can and will make a difference in our neighborhoods and schools. It is by this cooperative effort that we can all make sustainable changes for the betterment of the community. It is my duty as Chief of Police to coordinate, direct, and lead this department while navigating through these very challenging economic times that we are all faced with.

I began my career with the Hazel Park Police Department in 1998. I have held several positions and ranks in the department including:

  • Road Patrol Officer
  • Road Patrol Sergeant
  • Detective in the Narcotics Unit
  • Road Patrol Lieutenant
  • Detective Lieutenant
  • Administrative Lieutenant

I have also been a Records Bureau Supervisor, Personnel Equipment Supervisor, Hiring Administrator as well as Internal Investigations Coordinator. I feel this wide range of experience and duties will assist me and the department in serving our citizens and the community to the best of our ability.
