Planning Commission Public Hearings
Under 17.60 of the Zoning Ordinance, amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and the text of the Zoning Ordinance require a public hearing before the Planning Commission.   In addition, any rezoning request or special land use application to the Planning Commission and City Council requires a public hearing before the Planning Commission.

Here are notices and dates for the most recent public hearings in front of the Planning Commission:

The following two Applications will be heard at the September 7, 2021 Planning Commission Meeting:
Application Number 21-05
In accordance with Hazel Park Zoning Ordinance, Section 17.52.040(A), the applicant is requesting special land use approval to establish a minor auto repair shop at 20903 Dequindre Road, which is located at the intersection of Dequindre Road and E. George. 

Application Number 21-06
In accordance with Hazel Park Zoning Ordinance, Section 17.52.040(C), the applicant is requesting special land use approval to establish a wholesale/warehouse storage at 136 E. Ten Mile Road Dequindre Road, which is located near the intersection of E Ten Mile Road and Battelle.

Case 21-03
- Rezone the properties along the west side of Carlisle Avenue from Single-Family Detached Residential (RA-3) to Parking (P-1).  The City is also proposing to rezone two properties on Woodward Heights between John R and Woodward Heights from RA-3 (Single-Family Detached Residential) to the Local Business (LB) District.   Click here to view the notice.  The public hearing will take place on August 3, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.

Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearings
Under 17.62 of the Hazel Park Zoning Ordinance, the Zoning Board of Appeals hears appeals or variance requests.  A notice of a public hearing must be published and held for any ZBA case.  Below are the latest ZBA cases:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Hazel Park Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers, 111 E. Nine Mile Road, Hazel Park, MI 48030 on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.

LOCATION:  568 E. George
Sidwell Parcel No.:  25-36-358-007

REQUEST:  The applicant is requesting a dimensional variance from the Hazel Park Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 17.06 entitled Accessory Structure, including but not limited to, to allow the applicant to erect a garage in the side yard instead of the rear yard.
