Petition Drive - Racing to Save Michigan is spearheading a ballot initiative to amend the state constitution, allowing for the expansion of casino gaming at eight designated sites, including the five existing horse tracks.  This proposal will contribute revenues to the state, counties and local municipalities.  This is of critical importance to the City of Hazel Park and the Hazel Park Harness Raceway.  The City Administration, Mayor and Council ask for your assistance in seeing to it this measure passes. Town Hall Meeting March 25th at the Pleasant Ridge Community Center at 6:30 p.m. - State Representative Ellen Cogen-Lipton and State Senator Gilda Jacobs will be holding the meeting to discuss Michigan's Tax Structure.  For more information call Representative Lipton 888-347-8027.

Energy Assistance - Both DTE Energy and Consumers Energy offer customers a toll free number to call BEFORE their service is shutoff.  Customer service representatives are available and will work to set up a payment plan or advise of agencies that can be of assistance.  Call DTE at 800-477-4747 or Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050.

Demolition Begins on Days Inn Hotel - The cranes are in place, and demolition has begun on the old Days Inn Hotel.  This site will be the new home of CVS and Tim Horton's...stay tuned for details.
