Tips for Saving Water
Water Quality
The 2009 Water Quality Report for Hazel Park is now available at City Hall.
The City of Hazel Park is required to deliver to every house and business, a Consumer Confidence Water Quality Report annually. Last year, as in all previous years your tap water has met and/or surpassed all drinking water health standards required by the Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.), as well as the State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
Frozen Pipes
Never leave water pipes and/or water meter in an unheated area. This could cause damage to the water meter and your plumbing, resulting in high water bills and fees.
Public Act 222
This State Law provides procedures that need to be followed in the event of a sewage overflow or backup on your property. Any citizen having experienced an overflow or backup of a sewage disposal system or storm water system, must file a written claim with The City of Hazel Park within 45 days after the overflow or backup is discovered. A claim form may be obtained by calling the City Clerk at 248-546-4064. This form must be completed in full and returned to the City Clerk within 45 days of your incident, so that claim processing can begin. Failure to do so will prevent recovery of damages.
