Trash Pick Up

All residential trash, yard waste, & recycle bins will be picked up on Mondays.

  • Trash must be at the curb by 7 a.m.
  • Trash cans must be a maximum of 35 gallons, not to exceed 60 lbs.
  • Compost must be in 35 gallon (maximum) containers, not to exceed 60 lbs. with a compost label or a paper yard waste bag
  • Compost pick-ups are scheduled for the 1st Monday in April and the 3rd Monday in December
  • Wood must be tied and bundled no longer than 3 feet in length and no larger than 18 inches in diameter - all nails must be removed
  • Bulk items should be placed at curb by 7:00 a.m. with a maximum of three items per week
  • Compost stickers and recycling information are available at City Hall or at the DPW

Special Refuse Collection

Motor oil may be dropped off Monday through Thursday at the DPW yard located at 24211 Couzens, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Stop in the office for details.

Cement will be picked up the first two weeks of May only. Residents may put out a maximum of one cubic yard. One cubic yard is equal to 3 ft x 3 ft X 3 ft.

Leaf Pick Up Policy

  • Leaf pick up runs from the 1st Monday in April until the 3rd Monday in December
  • Do not rake leaves into the street 
  • All leaves must be put into paper leaf yard waste bags or trashcans labeled with a yard waste sticker. Containers are limited to 35 gallons, not to exceed 60 lbs. 
  • Plastic bags are not acceptable
  • Pick up is on your regular weekly trash day (Monday), and containers must be placed at the curb by 7:00a.m.

Brush Chipping

  • The chipper goes out every Wednesday
  • Brush must be over 4 ft. long, 1-5 inches in diameter, and all cut ends must be facing the same direction at the curb
  • Brush must not have vines, dirt, roots, or debris mixed in
  • All brush under 4 ft. long must be tied and bundled, not to exceed 18 inches in diameter per bundle, and put to the curb on the regular rubbish day.

Street Sweeping

Starting in April, all local streets are swept bi-weekly. Vehicles must be removed from the streets on assigned Street Maintenance Days  in order to allow the street sweeper to clean along the curb.
