Fire Hydrant flushing
Hydrant Flushing

The Hazel Park Fire Department will be "flowing" or "flushing" fire hydrants for the next 2 months throughout the city. Flowing will only occur Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. This service is being done in order to make sure that the water system is up to firefighting standards so that the protection of citizens can be performed as effectively as possible.

If you see flowing occurring in your neighborhood please be aware that your water may be slightly discolored for approximately 3 hours after service. If your water is in fact discolored, please run faucets until it becomes clear. Apologies for any inconvenience this service may cause, however it is absolutely critical to ensure that the water system is operating at peak efficiency in case it should be needed during an emergency.
