All recycling will be picked up on Mondays. 
Recycling Bins are available for purchase at City Hall Mon- Thurs 8:30am - 4:30pm at the Treasurers' counter, or at the DPW Office located at 24211 Couzens Mon - Thurs 7:00am - 3:00pm

  • Please have all items out by 7:00am to ensure Pick Up.
  • Set Clean, acceptable recyclables in bin.
  • Large metal items should be placed near bin.
  • Residents can set out more than one bin but can not weigh more than 60 pounds per bin.

 -Acceptable Curbside Items -

  • All papers - Newspapers, magazines, mail, paperback books, and paperboard boxes, phone books, shredded paper in a clear plastic bag
  • Empty food and beverage boxes, milk cartons, paper cups, drink and juice boxes
  • All plastic containers that will fit into your bin. They must be empty and rinsed out.
  • Empty glass bottles and jars
  • Empty metal cans, aluminum foil and small scrap metal items
  • Household batteries placed in clear baggies
  • Cardboard- Must be broken down and flattened into bundles and placed next to or under bin bundles can not be larger than your bin. Or can be flattened and placed into another box no larger than your bin.
  • Large Metal items - grills, bikes, lawn mowers, washers, dryers, file cabinets, shelving, water heaters. Please place next to recycling bin. Please report any scavenging to the Police Department.

This service is available to ANY resident or business regardless of address

        Electronic items require special handling and should not be disposed of in regular trash.         Electronics can be brought to SOCRRA for recycling and safe disposal free of charge.         See below for examples of electronic items.

Presciption Drugs Recycling-Starting November 3, 2016, Expired Prescriptions can be dropped off at the Police Department Lobby for proper disposal. No sharps please! The Police Department is located within the City Hall Building at 111 E Nine Mile Road.
