The Planning & Economic Development Department is responsible for assisting residents, business owners, and developers within the community, which includes conducting predevelopment meetings and performing site plan reviews to ensure compliance with all zoning requirements. The Planning Department also assists with the application process for zoning variances and rezoning requests. The Planning & Economic Department is the primary contact and liaison for the City's Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and Downtown Development Authority. The Economic Development Department is responsible for promoting business and economic growth through business retention and attraction. This department also oversees numerous community development programs and activities.
