Mouth-to-Mouth
Resuscitation

- Gently roll the person onto their back.
- Lift the chin and open the mouth.

- Look for anything obstructing the airway. Remove it with
your fingers.
- Pinch the person's nostrils closed.

- Place your mouth over the victim's mouth and blow two
2-second breaths. The breaths should be a little deeper
than normal breaths.
- Release the person's nose.
- Look for the rise and fall of the chest. If the chest
is not moving, reposition the person's head and check again
for anything obstructing the airway. Try resuscitation again.
If the patient's chest does rise and fall, continue resuscitation
with one breath every 5 or 6 seconds until help arrives or until
the person begins breathing. If the person does not begin breathing
after several tries, begin CPR ONLY if you are certified in
CPR. If you are not certified in CPR, continue mouth to mouth
resuscitation until help arrives.
