Management and Economic Development Assistant - Linda Williams

Linda Williams has been employed by the City of Hazel Park, starting as an intern in the City Manager's office since the summer of 1998. She has experienced positive growth in her professional career, currently serving as Management and Economic Development Assistant. Recently, her job duties has been shifted towards economic development due to an increased focus by Hazel Park city leaders towards business growth and retention. Her duties include serving as a liaison to the local businesses, assisting them with a variety of city issues, such as city department contacts and communication facilitation, license and permit requirements, local ordinance compliance & other rules & regulations.

Her other duties include assisting the City Manager in matters pertaining to general management and personnel issues. She works with department heads and staff to research and resolve a wide variety of City issues and problems. She also assists in budget preparation and and in-house computer training for city employees.

Linda holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Oakland University, where she is pursuing her Masters in Public Administration. Linda is a member of the Michigan Economic Development Association and received her certification from MEDA in Fall 2004.
