City Manager - Edward Klobucher
Hazel Park´s City Manager is Edward Klobucher. Mr. Klobucher is a lifelong resident of Hazel Park.
He was appointed permanent City Manager in May of 2002 in the midst of a grave municipal budget
crisis. Working with a dedicated City Council majority and cooperative employee bargaining units,
he was able to present a balanced budget for 2002-2003 fiscal year. Prior to becoming City Manager,
he served as Hazel Park's Acting City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Acting City Clerk and Special
Projects Coordinator.
Mr. Klobucher´s involvement with the City of Hazel Park began before he graduated from high school,
when he began working for the City´s Recreation Department as a part-time sports official, playground
supervisor, and program supervisor. After he left the Recreation Department, Mr. Klobucher continued
to be involved with the City of Hazel Park as a volunteer, serving on several municipal boards and
commissions including the Economic Development Corporation, Zoning Board of Appeals, Downtown Development
Authority and the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. He also served as a Hazel Park Auxiliary Police
Officer for ten years, rising to the rank of auxiliary lieutenant and earning several commendations.

The
city of Hazel Park will be one of the first suburbs
in the state to receive funding and support to make
redevelopment efforts less complicated for investors
over the next two years. more>

Professionally,
Mr. Klobucher has worked as a staff assistant to a Michigan State Representative
and he served as a seasonal Deputy Sheriff with the Oakland County Sheriff´s
Department´s Parks Division (1992-2002). He has worked as an Instructor at Madonna
University, where he taught a class entitled "Introduction to Future Studies," which
was cross-listed in the political science and sociology departments. Mr. Klobucher
is also a State of Michigan limited licensed psychologist, who has administered treatment
programs for criminal offenders, servicing the court systems in Wayne & Oakland Counties.
He has also worked for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the
Detroit Medical Center.
Mr. Klobucher holds a Bachelor´s Degree in Political Science and History (Excelsior College)
and a Master´s Degree in Clinical Psychology (Vermont College of Norwich University). He has
completed numerous professional education programs in public policy and administration,
including a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Indiana State University.
In 2006, Mr. Klobucher earned a Taubman Fellowship to attend and complete the Senior Executives
in State and Local Government Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard
University. He is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy, and he served as a gubernatorial
appointee to the Michigan Board of Psychology from 2002-2006. Mr. Klobucher serves on the
Board of Directors for the Michigan Suburbs Alliance, and he is a Professional Member of
the World Future Society. He is a member of several local fraternal organizations
including the Lions Club, F.O.E., and F. & A. M.
