The City of Hazel Park is looking for volunteers to fill openings
on several boards and commissions. The following is a list of
committees and a brief description of what their responsibilities
are. If anyone would like to serve on one of these boards, applications
are available in the Clerk's Office, 111 E. Nine Mile Road.

Ad Hoc CableVision*
Oversees the enforcement of the Cable Ordinance in the City
and monitors the activities of cable service

Oversees all elections per election law and approves appointments

Serves as a financial mechanism to acquire and build any municipal
facility

Pension Board
Administers municipal employees pension retirement system

Personnel Advisory Board*
Adopt rules & regulations, enforces personnel & disciplinary
matter, hears appeals and passes eligibility lists for various
positions prepared by Personnel Director

Prepares comprehensive plan for City; considers changes to zoning
ordinance and recommends all plat changes and modifications

Recycling*
Promotes recycling efforts in community

Youth Assistance
Strengthens youth and families and reduces incidence of delinquency,
abuse and neglect through volunteer involvement.

Zoning Board of Appeals
Review appeals from property owners
Zoning Board of Appeals cases are filed in the Building Department.
The ZBA meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month
at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
The fees for the Zoning Board of Appeals are $500 Commercial
and $400 Residential.
