Area attractions include unique destination restaurant and night-life venues.  Some of the more popular spots include world-famous Loui's Pizzeria with it's old-school charm and award-winning pizza, to the home cooking and outdoor patio dining at The Country Boy Restaurant, to Pi's Thai and the ever popular Brayz.  Night life options include plenty of neighborhood bars and taverns like the House of Shamrocks where you can enjoy a beverage on the patio, or check out some of the hottest bands in Metro Detroit.

Perhaps the most well known attraction is Hazel Park Harness Raceway .  A fixture in the community since 1949, the track is the state's largest horse racing facility and offers live harness racing from May through September. In addition, the raceway offers year round simulcast coverage from the top race tracks across the United States.  In 2009, the track added a brand new Charity Poker Room , where patrons can take part in various poker tournaments, typically held on weekends.  Whether you prefer dinner in the clubhouse or a beer and a hot dog on the apron, Hazel Park Raceway is a great entertainment value.  During the live racing season, the track also hosts several special events including all three thoroughbred Triple Crown races, live music, barbeques and the spectacular annual Fourth of July fireworks display.  The live season finale is capped off with the Michigan Sires Stake championships and the annual Trot for Tots night, a charity fund raising event held in conjunction with the local chapter of the Children's Miracle Network.  And of course, parking and admission is always free.

Hazel Park also boasts its very own version of Hockey Town, the Viking Ice Arena .  Featuring both Olympic and NHL size rinks, the arena is home to local competitive and recreational hockey programs and tournaments.  The arena also offers learn-to skate programs, public skating and pro shop services. Come check out the excitement!

Residents can also enjoy some good old-fashion family fun like taking in a round of putt-putt at Mauro's, or bowling a few games at Hazel Park Bowl.  The city is also home to a growing artist community including Richard Gage Studios and TANK, a practical Art School, as well as the Phoenix Cafe.
